At this point in the offseason, things haven't quite kicked off around the league just yet, but things are especially quiet on the Detroit Tigers front. Based on how many talented, young players the Tigers have in their lineup, the logical area for them to spend would be in the starting rotation, giving themselves another elite arm to pair with Tarik Skubal while many of their inexperienced arms continue to develop. Whether that does or does not happen, the likes of Keider Montero, Casey Mize, Jackson Jobe, Reese Olson and even Matt Manning will have an opportunity to make the Opening Day roster as part of this rotation.

The Red Sox knew plenty about that as the right-hander dominated the club in his lone playoff start against them during the 2016 American League Division Series. Kluber suited up for five teams, including three in the American League East, over his MLB career. Not only did the Red Sox value his veteran experience, they named him the Opening Day starter in efforts to protect Chris Sale to start the season.

While listing players the Mets should trade for, FanSided's Josue De Jesus urged the team to acquire Milwaukee Brewers closer Devin Williams. "Williams continues to be an elite baseball reliever who will be available since the team declined the option on the player for the 2025 season, leaving next year at the base value of his last year of arbitration, so 2025 would be his last season with the Milwaukee Brewers," wrote De Jesus.

Arizona Diamondbacks All-Star Ketel Marte has collected his first career Silver Slugger award as the best hitter among second baseman in the National League for 2024. Marte is the first D-backs player to win a Silver Slugger since pitcher Zack Greinke in 2019. The last position players to do so were first baseman Paul Goldschmidt and outfielder David Peralta in 2018. Aaron Hill is the only other D-backs second baseman to win the award, doing so back in 2012. Just one week after Raleigh won the first Gold Glove by a catcher in Seattle Mariners history and a few days after winning the first Platinum Glove award in franchise history, Raleigh was denied the Silver Slugger award, which went to the Kansas City Royals' backstop Salvador Perez on Tuesday.
