Three Reds players saw action in Wednesday's Arizona Fall League game between the Desert Dogs and the Solar Sox. Tyler Callihan started in left field and went 1-4 with a home run. It was his second home of the fall and his second in as many days. Edwin Arroyo started at shortstop and went 0-4. He also made his second error of the fall.. Christian Encarnacion-Strand was the designated hitter and went 1-4. The Desert Dogs lost 2-1 and fell to 16-13 on the season. 11/13 6:00 PM Jose Butto (P-NYM) Looking at Mets' bullpen situation after staff came up short on path to NLCS. The Mets' decision to not go all-in at the trade deadline was prudent at the time. President of baseball operations David Stearns made some effective moves that didn't cost the team any high-end prospects and he gave the bullpen enough fortification that the Mets were able to grab a Wild Card playoff spot. The circle of trust seemed to shrink with every round. Right-handed swingman Jose Butto was shelled in high-leverage situations, right-hander Phil Maton struggled and veteran Adam Ottavino was left off the roster completely in the series against the Los Angeles Dodgers after going unused in the Wild Card round and NLDS.

11/13 5:00 PM Kyle Hendricks (P-CHC) Los Angeles Angels Seeking Veteran Leadership From Former Chicago Cubs Pitcher. In the 2008 MLB draft, Kyle Hendricks was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 39th round out of high school, but did not sign with the organization. Three years later, he was selected in the eighth round by the Texas Rangers, an organization that he would spend one year with before being traded to the franchise he would call home for 11 seasons, the Chicago Cubs. Hendricks served as a reliable starter for the Cubs since debuting for the club on July 10th, 2014, pitching to a 3.68 ERA across 1,580 1/3 innings with 1,259 strikeouts and a 113 ERA+ in 276 games (270 starts) from 2014 through 2024.
