Ryan Mountcastle was one of the first prospects from the Orioles' rebuild to make it to the Majors, debuting in 2020. Mountcastle's production has not gone unnoticed. The Boston Red Sox targeted Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Jordan Montgomery last offseason to be their ace, but couldn't meet the money expectations, as he signed with the DBacks for one year, $22.5 million and a player option after that. This season, in 25 games, 21 of them were starts, Montgomery posted a 6.23 ERA, an 8-7 record, and only 83 strikeouts.
