1/09/25 | Cardinals signed RB Michael Carter through 2025. Running back Michael Carter was signed from the practice squad to the active roster by the Arizona Cardinals the final week of the 2024 season. Such a move is common for players who have less than three seasons in the NFL because teams retain exclusive rights to players with less than three credited seasons anyway. Carter and DeeJay Dallas are the only running backs on the Cardinals' active roster after James Conner, Emari Demercado and Trey Benson have all been ruled out for the season and were placed on injured reserve.
