7/12/24 | IronPigs: Tyler Gilbert got a grip, in a rhythm in new role. Tyler Gilbert emerged from the IronPigs clubhouse on July 2 five hours before first pitch with a large gong and a mallet made up of a sawed-off bat with a baseball taped to the end of it. It was the pitching staff's most-recent way to connect with the position players during games. Every time a Lehigh Valley player hits a home run, a member of the bullpen located beyond the left-field wall whacks the mallet against the gong a few times. Weston Wilson led off the first inning in that July 2 game with a home run. Source: https://www.mcall.com/2024/07/12/ironpigs-tyler-gi... |
