7/21/24 | Former Padres Reliever Signs With AL Contender Full of Ex-Padres. Former San Diego Padres reliever Dinelson Lamet agreed to a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals on Friday morning and was immediately assigned to Triple-A Omaha. Lamet opted out of his minor league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers in early June and has been a free agent for the past six weeks. Lamet got lost in the Dodgers' bullpen shuffle and buried on their starting pitching depth chart. Lamet's MLB career began in 2017 with the Padres.
