10/10/24 | Dodgers force do-or-die Game 5 with shutout win over Padres. With the rotation decimated, the lineup wounded and the season hanging in the balance, a group of close to 12 Los Angeles Dodgers pitchers walked toward Petco Park's center-field bullpen late Wednesday afternoon to attempt what at that point seemed improbable -- tame a vaunted San Diego Padres offense, quiet an effervescent opposing crowd and send this National League Division Series back to L.A. "Obviously stuff can change," said Daniel Hudson, the most senior member of that group. On this night, in a must-win Game 4, it was the Dodgers who did the punching, deploying eight relievers to shut out the Padres and capture an 8-0 win, setting up a winner-take-all Game 5 from Dodger Stadium on Friday. Along the way, Ryan Brasier, Anthony Banda, Michael Kopech, Alex Vesia, Evan Phillips, Hudson, Blake Treinen and Landon Knack, pitching in that order, accomplished history. 9/23/24 | Dave Roberts: Dodgers Need Daniel Hudson 'To Put Up Zeros'. Daniel Hudson has been an important piece of the Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen all season, but he has struggled to perform recently and been moved out of high-leverage situations. Hudson has thrown the second-most innings among relievers in the Dodgers bullpen at 61, just behind Alex Vesia's 64.1. This year, Hudson has pitched to a solid 3.10 ERA, but his season has been a tale of two halves. In the first half of the year, Hudson posted a 1.63 ERA across 38.2 innings. 8/30/24 | Dave Roberts Not Changing Daniel Hudson's Role In Dodgers Bullpen. Daniel Hudson has been a key member of the Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen this season, but he has fallen into a rough stretch as of late. Hudson posted a 5.79 ERA in August and has given up runs in four of his last seven appearances. In addition, Hudson has walked (4) more batters than he's stuck out (3) in his 9.1 innings this month. Due to his struggles and usage, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts decided to give Hudson some time to reset as he did not use the reliever in a game from Aug. 21 through Aug. 28.
