11/16/24 Chicago Cubs Tied for Most Prospects in Latest Top 100 Update. The Chicago Cubs have begun to build their farm system over the years, and at the top, that has resulted in them sneakily becoming one of the deepest in the league. While the Cubs don't have any players in the top 30, they are tied with the Seattle Mariners for the most prospects on the list with six. Shortstop Jefferson Rojas and outfielder Kevin Alcantara were both listed in the "next 50" section, so while they didn't crack the Top 100 this time, they are players to watch for the next update. Smith was the top draft pick of Chicago last year and his game has translated quicker than anyone expected.

9/04/24 Chicago Cubs Top 100 Prospects Rankings Swell to Six Players. It took a month for Baseball America to increase the number of Top 100 prospects in the Chicago Cubs organization from four to six as the site released its September rankings on Tuesday. The new top 100 prospects are catcher Moises Ballesteros, who is now ranked No. 66, and outfielder Kevin Alcantara, who is now No. 79. The team features several top-30 prospects in the Chicago Cubs organization as well as returning faces to Tennessee. 3/02/23 Cubs farm system 'stronger than it has been since 2015'. A multi-pronged approach to reloading the farm system has paid off in a big way for the Chicago Cubs, according to the latest MLB Pipeline update. The outlet's 2023 preseason prospect rankings dropped on Wednesday and Jim Callis loves what he sees on the horizon for the North Siders. The rankings, headlined by outfielders Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kevin Alcantara, feature a boatload of pitchers - a promising sign given the organization's very intentional focus on developing arms this time around.

2/27/23 Minor league pitching depth will be a top Yankees priority in 2023. There are fans of the Yankees who accuse Brian Cashman of “hugging” the organization's prospects. In reality, the Yankees have traded a small army of quality prospects in the last two years alone. FanGraphs recently released its Top 100 Prospects list, and it included Kevin Alcantara, Ken Waldichuk, and Hayden Wesneski. All three of those players were Yankees not long ago, as were players like Luis Medina and Canaan Smith-Njigba, who appear among the top prospects in their new organizations, and Ezequiel Duran and Josh Smith, who broke through to the big leagues last year.
