Jordan Balazovic knew the upcoming season was going to be an important one for him after a disastrous 2022 season marred by injury. Balazovic classified it as a “sucker punch,” claiming he “never spoke a word” to the man who broke his jaw but declined to go into detail of the incident, citing an ongoing investigation. Twins pitching prospect Jordan Balazovic was struck during an altercation last Saturday night in Florida, leaving him with a broken jaw that required surgical repair. “It's a disappointing situation,” president of baseball operations Derek Falvey said. Instead, camp has started without Balazovic, who currently has his jaw wired shut and is not participating in workouts.
