11/16/24 Dodgers Pitcher Unexpectedly Will Now Be a Free Agent. Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Connor Brogdon has elected free agency after he was outrighted to Triple-A Oklahoma City, per the MLB.com transaction log. Brogdon was acquired on April 6 from the Philadelphia Phillies for Minor League pitcher Benony Robles after the right-hander was designated for assignment on April 2.

4/07/24 The Phillies pitching staff has allowed only 22 walks through the first eight games. Here's why.. The Phillies' pitching staff had a tumultuous start to the season, but despite that, over the first eight games, it has allowed only 22 walks. Only eight of those walks came from the starting rotation, and six came from reliever Connor Brogdon, who was traded to the Dodgers on Saturday. It's a small sample, but, at this point last season, Phillies pitchers had allowed 33 free passes, which was the 10th-highest total in MLB. Pitching coach Caleb Cotham says it's no fluke.

4/03/24 Connor Brogdon's control problems come to a head for Phillies. To the not-so-casual daily Phillies observer, it might have been slightly surprising to walk into the almost empty clubhouse prior to Tuesday night's rainfest and seeing Connor Brogdon in his usual pose, seated in front of his stall scrolling on his phone. It was after that game Monday night, a 6-3 loss to the Cincinnati Reds in which Brogdon continued his ongoing battle to throw baseballs at least near home plate, that he opened up about his pitching issues. “Just a lot of inconsistency with my mechanics and I'm not feeling as comfortable as I've felt in the past with my mechanics,” Brogdon said.

3/29/24 Key 2022 reliever glad to be back with Phillies after spending most of 2023 in minors. Connor Brogdon pitched 103 games for the Phillies in 2021 and 2022, posting a solid 3.36 ERA. Brogdon showed the Phillies enough this spring to make the Opening Day roster. Taijuan Walker and Orion Kerkering started the season on the injured list, which potentially helped his cause and could also mean the next few weeks could be critical for him to remain with the club all season as he did in 2022. “Pretty exciting for this year, looking to turn it around,” said Brogdon.

1/04/24 2023 Phillies in review: Connor Brogdon. Connor Brogdon was expected to be a big part of the Phillies' bullpen in 2023. For the second straight year, Brogdon didn't have his top velocity during Grapefruit League play, and that carried over into the first game on the season.

8/21/23 Matchups, Jerry. Matchups as far as the eye can see...: Phillies vs. Giants preview. Oh man, this is kind of an important series, isn't it? These are currently the top two teams in the National League wild card chase, so they're playing for home field advantage should they end up meeting each other in October for three games. It's an opportunity for the Phillies to put some distance between themselves and the Giants, which would be nice. San Francisco Giants Record : 65-59, 11 1 / 2 GB in the National League West; 2 GB of the top Wild Card spot The last time they met May 15-17, in San Francisco. The Giants won all three games out west, rocking the Phillies' starters during. These were the halcyon days of Connor Brogdon and Bailey Falter opening games for the Phillies, of Zack

5/25/23 John Kruk was not a happy camper during Phillies' comeback win. As an announcer, John Kruk has never been confused for a ray of sunshine. But the NBC Sports Philadelphia analyst was downright miserable during the Phillies' extra-innings win against the Arizona Diamondbacks Wednesday. The misery began in the seventh inning, when Kruk was apoplectic after home plate umpire Junior Valentine forced Phillies pitcher Connor Brogdon to move his rosin bags off the mound. Kruk got so angry, he seemingly came close to cursing on air, causing play-by-play announcer Tom McCarthy to toss out a nervous, “Now John, watch it.” “Is he throwing sidearm? Is his hand dragging the ground? Is his knuckles grabbing the ground? Then how the hell does that rosin bag cause a distraction?”

5/15/23 Connor Brogdon excited for ‘second top moment in my baseball career’. SAN FRANCISCO — Connor Brogdon’s favorite thing he’s done in his baseball career is somewhat easy to guess: pitching in the World Series last fall.  His second favorite will take place on Monday night.  Brogdon will be the Phillies’ opener in the series opener against the San Francisco Giants. It won’t be the first start […]

5/14/23 Connor Brogdon Making Himself More Valuable for Phillies. Middle relievers tend to fly under the radar but the Phillies have one in Connor Brogdon who is becoming more versatile and valuable by the day. Brogdon pitched two scoreless innings Saturday night at Coors Field, bridging the game from Ranger Suarez, who threw 72 pitches over four innings in his season debut, and an incomplete back of the bullpen. The Phillies are without their best reliever, Jose Alvarado, for at least a few weeks as he deals with elbow inflammation.

5/06/23 Red Sox Notes: Kenley Jansen Knocking On Door Of Milestone Save. If you haven't been paying attention, you might just miss the fact that the Boston Red Sox are actually a fun baseball team to watch. Boston won their season-high eighth straight game by defeating the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday night at Citizens Bank Park, and they did it by exploding for five runs in the fifth inning and getting solid pitching from the mound. Boston added two runs off Phillies reliever Connor Brogdon in the sixth.

4/05/23 Connor Brogdon looking to step up when the Phillies need him most. Connor Brogdon stepped to the mound for the Phillies in the seventh inning on Tuesday in relief of José Alvarado. Brogdon allowed a single, a flyout, induced a double play, and then returned to the mound for the eighth, pitching a 1-2-3 inning. This is notable because it's not something Brogdon, 28, often does. Last season, the right-handed reliever gave the Phillies just two outings of two innings or more, and both came in the playoffs.

12/09/22 New Phillies reliever Matt Strahm brings uncommonly varied repertoire to bullpen role. The Phillies will likely add another reliever to a group that includes Seranthony Domínguez, Alvarado, Strahm, Connor Brogdon, Andrew Bellatti, and long man Nick Nelson. They must replace some of the 102 innings that came from veterans David Robertson, Corey Knebel, and Jeurys Familia. Robertson signed a one-year, $10 million contract this week with the New York Mets.
