DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers activated left-handed reliever Andrew Vasquez from the 15-day injured list for the final three games of the season. He takes the spot of right-hander Sawyer Gipson-Long, who was optioned to the minor leagues. Gipson-Long made his final start on Thursday and was not scheduled to pitch again this season. Vasquez, 30, has been on the injured list since Aug. 29 with left calf tightness. But the injury was never considered serious and he spent most of his IL stint rehabbing with Triple-A Toledo. The Detroit Tigers have added a solid left-handed arm to their bullpen Friday by claiming Andrew Vasquez from the Philadelphia Phillies. According to Fangraphs, Vasquez throws his slider 87% of the time, which is the most in the big leagues among pitchers who have faced at least 50 hitters.
