11/13/24 Should Baltimore Orioles Pursue Red-Hot Reliever To Boost Bullpen?. The Baltimore Orioles had one clear deficiency in 2024 and it was their bullpen. Baltimore did pick up Seranthony Dominguez's option, but declined Danny Coulombe's. Meaning the team will still need to look for another reliever. This year's market for relievers is robust.

8/21/24 Former Philadelphia Phillies Reliever Gunning for Old Teammate's Job in Baltimore. The Philadelphia Phillies shipped away a struggling reliever to the Baltimore Orioles at the MLB trade deadline and he's already earned a promotion with his new squad. After weeks of poor performances, the Phillies felt comfortable in trading away Seranthony Dominguez. Over his last 11 games in a Philadelphia uniform, the 29-year-old had a 5.56 ERA and batters were slashing .250/.321/.542 against him. The Orioles jumped at the opportunity to add to him their bullpen, despite the recent struggles.

8/19/24 The Mets are taking it one Proof of Life moment at a time. He didn't just want to hit the 98-mph heater from Seranthony Dominguez over the fence. Francisco Alvarez wanted to vault it over the clouds, over the sky, maybe all the way to the RFK Bridge. He settled for 421 feet. That was enough. That gave the Mets a 4-3 win over the Orioles, gave them a 1-0 head start on a 10-games-in-10-days obstacle course that will deliver them to Labor Day weekend and either solidify their status as postseason hopefuls or expedite the franchise's gaze to 2025. Some blasts are bigger than others. This one was king-sized, both for a team looking to negotiate a minefield of Orioles, Padres and Diamondbacks , and for a kid catcher who'd been wandering in the weeds for almost

After that, Philadelphia acquired Los Angeles Angels closer Carlos Estevez.

7/28/24 Philadelphia Phillies No. 3 Prospect Named Top Trade Chip. Hays, who was an All-Star in 2023, has struggled at times this season, but his .328/.394/.500 slash line against left-handed pitching addresses the biggest issue in this lineup. After trading Seranthony Dominguez as part of this deal with the Orioles, the Phillies all but confirmed that they'll be adding bullpen help. Dominguez wasn't himself, and finding a new arm who could come in and make an impact is now the goal.

7/26/24 Phillies, Orioles make surprising trade ahead of deadline. It's not often that two of baseball's best teams do business with one another. But that's exactly what happened Friday afternoon when the Philadelphia Phillies and Baltimore Orioles swapped some household names. The Phillies sent reliever Seranthony Dominguez and outfielder Christian Pache to Baltimore in exchange for outfielder Austin Hays, the team announced. 3 After six years of pitching in Philadelphia, Dominguez will be onto a new team. AP Dominguez, 29, has posted a 4.75 ERA in 38 appearances this year, striking out 40 and walking just 12. The hard-throwing Dominican reliever had become a staple of Philly's bullpen, with his 149 appearances over the last three years the most for the franchise.

4/30/24 Philadelphia Phillies' Reliever Still Has Confidence Despite Struggles. Philadelphia Phillies' Reliever Still Has Confidence Despite Struggles It has not been a great stretch for one of the Philadelphia Phillies relievers as he continues to struggle when called upon. Author: Brad Wakai Apr 30, 2024 In this story: Philadelphia Phillies MLB Seranthony Dominguez In 2022, the Philadelphia Phillies seemed to find a reliever they could rely upon after there had been multiple years where that unit consistently performed as one of the worst across Major League Baseball. For a franchise with championship aspirations, having a solid bullpen is necessary to lifting the trophy, something the Phillies have found out the hard way these past two seasons. But when Seranthony Dominguez

4/25/24 How the Phillies plan to help Seranthony Dominguez work through command issues. CINCINNATI – When one of a team’s more dependable relievers comes into a game and throws two pitches to the backstop against the first hitter he faces, that’s not a good sign. Sure enough, Seranthony Dominguez did that in the sixth Wednesday night and went on to give up four runs against the Reds at Great American Ball Park, helping...

Slumping Philadelphia Phillies Reliever Has Become Unusable The Philadelphia Phillies can't afford to keep letting this struggling reliever cost them games. Author: Tyler Maher Apr 25, 2024 In this story: Philadelphia Phillies MLB Seranthony Dominguez Spencer Turnbull put the Philadelphia Phillies in position to win on Wednesday. In what could be his final start before moving to the bullpen , Turnbull was once again excellent, firing five innings of one-run ball against the Cincinnati Reds while striking out eight. He left with a 1.33 ERA and a 3-1 lead after 89 pitches, putting the game in the hands of the Phillies' bullpen. Philadelphia's relievers immediately gave it away, surrendering four

9/23/23 Confident Phils eye 4th straight win in rematch with Mets. In their chase for the National League's top wild-card spot, the Philadelphia Phillies will go for their fourth straight win when they host the New York Mets on Saturday. The Phillies (85-69) defeated the Mets 5-4 in 10 innings on Friday and now hold a four-game bulge over the Arizona Diamondbacks for the first wild-card berth. Winning three more games would assure the Phillies of at least one of the wild cards, but they could qualify sooner depending on other results. Seranthony Dominguez struck out Pete Alonso with the bases loaded to end the top of the 10th in a 4-4 game, and Alec Bohm hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 10th.

4/05/23 MATTHEW DE GEORGE: Bumpy start aside, Phillies are going to be fine. The Phillies will return to Philadelphia for Friday's home opener at no mathematical risk of finishing the season oh-and-162. “You don't want to start 0-4, that's for sure,” manager Rob Thomson was saying Monday night. It reflects a simple truth: The Phillies are going to be fine. Seranthony Dominguez has bounced back from a bad outing with two good ones.

The Phillies finished second in baseball and first in the league in bullpen ERA on their way to a title in 2008. In the fourteen seasons since, they have averaged 20th in MLB and 11th in the NL, finishing no higher
