11/13/24 Yankees want this key reliever back in free agency ... and the interest is mutual. The Yankees and lefty reliever Tim Hill — who is a free agent this winter — are on the same page. Both parties are interested in a reunion this offseason, per Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News. Hill blossomed in the Yankees' bullpen this summer, turning a down year around in pinstripes. The left-hander was designated for assignment by the White Sox and subsequently released in June.

Hill, who is still working his way through the free agent process, has received interest from other contenders across the league. The 34-year-old was terrible with Chicago, posting a 5.87 ERA over his first 27 games and 23 innings this season.

8/12/24 Yankees' Tim Hill grateful for stint with woeful White Sox. With the Yankees rained out on August 6, Tim Hill spent the evening watching his former team play. The White Sox, working on one of the most appalling seasons in major league history, broke a 21-game losing streak that night with a win over the Athletics. The sorry stretch tied an American League record, so Hill took pleasure in its end after pitching for Chicago earlier this season. “I was happy for them, happy for the boys over there,” the reliever told the Daily News.

6/21/24 Yankees reform struggling bullpen by adding ex-Met, cutting Victor González. After using six relievers in each of their last two games, the Yankees restructured their bullpen before Friday's series opener against the Braves. The reformation actually began Thursday when the Yankees signed the left-handed Tim Hill. The Bombers then lost to the Orioles, 17-5, and sent Ron Marinaccio to Triple-A. Marinaccio pitched in the blowout and in Wednesday's 10-inning loss. Aaron Boone said the righty, who has 2.84 ERA but has allowed five runs in his last four games, handled the decision “like a pro, but he's not thrilled about it, obviously.”
