11/24/23 Ranking the Rockies: No. 14, Matt Koch. Welcome to the 2023 edition of Ranking the Rockies, where we take a look back at every player to log playing time for the Rockies in 2023. The purpose of this list is to provide a snapshot of the player in context. When the Rockies signed journeyman right-handed reliever Matt Koch to a minor-league deal last offseason, I don't know if they thought he would become one of their most-turned-to arms out of the barn in 2023. Originally drafted in the third round by the New York Mets, Koch made his big league debut with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

8/20/23 No sweep for Rockies as bullpen implodes in loss to White Sox. Sunday afternoon, the Rockies were on track for just their second three-game sweep of the season. Chicago teed off on relievers Matt Koch, Justin Bruihl and Justin Lawrence in a seven-run inning to pocket a 10-5 win. Koch gave up four runs on three hits and a walk. Bruihl, a left-hander, came in and intentionally walked Yasmani Grandal to load the bases so that he could face lefty Oscar Colas.

7/20/23 Thursday Rockpile: Matt Koch discusses his baseball journey. When right-handed reliever Matt Koch was drafted in the third round by the New York Mets during 2012's First Year Player Draft, I don't think he could have foreseen the journey that eventually brought him to the Colorado Rockies organization. Koch was drafted out of high school by the Boston Red Sox in the 37th round of the 2009 draft, but the pitcher from Iowa declined to sign in favor of his commitment with the University of Louisville. Koch posted a 3.38 ERA with the Cardinals over three seasons and 49 appearances, including 17 starts.

6/27/23 Rockies select the contract of Matt Koch. The Colorado Rockies have selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Matt Koch from Triple-A Albuquerque the club announced Tuesday prior to their three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Coors Field. Koch, 32, signed with the Rockies on a minor league deal last offseason and has spent the season with the Albuquerque Isotopes. In 34 2/3 innings as a reliever across 29 games this season, Koch has a 7.27 ERA and a 1.615 WHIP in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League.
