7/31/24 Dylan Floro came to Chase Field on one team and left on another. Every so often at the MLB trade deadline, a club's need will be right down the hall. The Arizona Diamondbacks did not send the ol' bullpen cart for reliever Dylan Floro, who made the short stroll from the Washington Nationals' clubhouse to the home side at Chase Field on Tuesday. At the buzzer of the trade deadline, Arizona acquired Floro for minor league infielder Andres Chaparro.

7/30/24 Nationals' Dylan Floro traded to Diamondbacks. The Arizona Diamondbacks continued to beef up the bullpen by trading for Washington Nationals righty Dylan Floro, according to Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro. Arizona will give up a 25-year-old infielder Andres Chaparro, who has spent the year with Triple-A Reno slashing .332/.403/.564.

1/14/24 Washington Nationals news & notes: Dylan Floro & his role in D.C.; Nats sign arbitration-eligible players .... As the Nationals noted in a press release on the 1-year/$2.25M deal reliever Dylan Floro signed earlier this winter, the 33-year-old, in his career, “... is (26-22) with a 3.42 ERA and 32 saves in 330 games over eight Major League seasons with the Rays (2016), Cubs (2017), Reds (2018), Dodgers (2018-20), Marlins (2021-23) and Twins (2023).” “Floro,” they added, “... is one of only eight pitchers in Major League baseball to record at least 30 saves and 25 holds since the beginning of the 2021 season, joining new teammate Kyle Finnegan on that list.” Floro saved 15 games for Miami in 2021, 10 for the Marlins in 2022, and seven in 2023 before the Fish traded him to the Minnesota Twins for 33-year-old, eight-year veteran Jorge López. Before the Nats' deal with the reliever was announced, skipper Davey Martinez told reporters he could see adding another arm to the mix at the back end of the bullpen in D.C., bolstering a relief corps which is likely to feature Kyle Finnegan and Hunter Harvey in the late innings along with a hopefully-healthy after Tommy John surgery Tanner Rainey.

12/27/23 Washington Nationals news & notes: Nats close to being competitive again?. Veteran reliever Dylan Floro, who signed a 1-year/$2.25M free agent deal with the club this winter, said he saw signs of the Nationals turning the corner towards once again being competitive in the NL East. Nick Senzel got a 1-year/$2M deal from the Nationals, and he too talked about joining a club on the come, and trying to help them take the next step.

Earlier this week, we dropped the seventh installment of this series about free agent relievers who could help the team. Dylan Floro was one of them, and he signed with the Nationals a few hours after that was published. Brent Honeywell: The 28-year-old threw a few innings with the Rays in 2021, the first season in which he reached the big leagues.

The Washington Nationals finalized a $2.25 million, one-year contract with reliever Dylan Floro on Tuesday and a $2 million, one-year deal with infielder/outfielder Nick Senzel. Floro can earn $1.65 million in performance bonuses and could match his 2023 pay of $3.9 million. A 32-year-old right-hander, Floro was 5-6 with a 4.76 ERA and seven saves in 10 chances for Miami and Minnesota, which acquired him on July 26 for right-hander Jorge López.

9/26/23 Twins welcome back key bullpen member Brock Stewart. Jorge López for Dylan Floro — but otherwise standing pat. First, they shifted starter Louie Varland to the bullpen, where his stuff has ticked up and he has posted a 1.74 earned-run average in six relief appearances entering Tuesday. Then they did the same with Chris Paddack, moving him to the bullpen for the remainder of this season as well. Paddack, who had Tommy John surgery last May, returned on Sunday.

9/13/23 Dodgers Prospect Kyle Hurt Had 'Exciting' & 'Very Special' MLB Debut Against Hometown Padres. In 2021, the Los Angeles Dodgers made a trade with the Miami Marlins that has worked out incredibly well for them, sending Dylan Floro east in exchange for pitching prospects Kyle Hurt and Alex Vesia. Vesia has of course been a key member of the Dodgers bullpen for the past three seasons, despite some struggles this year, while Hurt dominated the Minor Leagues en route to making his MLB debut on Tuesday. The Dodgers selected Hurt's contract prior to the game amid a season where he posted the highest strikeout rate in the Minor Leagues between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City.

In the second half of July, the Twins and the Diamondbacks each had a 5-game losing streak. In the last 7 games, the Twins and the Diamondbacks have identicle win-loss records of 2-5. Twins. The Minnesota Twins acquired Dylan Floro from the Miami Marlins in exchange for Jorge López on Wednesday in a swap of struggling right-handed relievers on contending teams. Floro is an eight-year big league veteran with a career 3.32 ERA, but the 32-year-old is 3-5 with a 4.54 ERA and seven saves this season. Floro was a regular out of the bullpen for the 2020 World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers.

Two innings later, the Marlins walked off the field at loanDepot park with a 6-3 win over the Mets to begin a three-game series. The Marlins improve to 57-80 and have now won back-to-back games for the first time since Aug. 22-23 against the Oakland Athletics.
