The White Sox need immediate help in the field to rebound from the worst season of all time — they posted a 41-121 record — and Boston has MLB-ready talent to spare. In the Nov. 13 installment of the "Foul Territory" podcast, a report from Sean McAdam of MassLive suggests a trade for Crochet could be easier than anticipated for Boston, which has become a prospect hugger in recent years.

The Scottsdale Scorpions are rolling in the Arizona Fall League and a trio of Pittsburgh Pirates helped keep that going with a 12-3 win over the Peoria Javelinas. Pirates outfield prospect Sammy Siani extended his hitting streak to 13 games after he went 1-3 with two runs scored, an RBI and three walks, while infield prospect Kervin Pichardo was 1-4 with a triple, two runs scored, one walk and a strikeout. Pittsburgh catching prospect Geovanny Planchart went 0-2, but walked twice and drove in a run on a sacrifice fly.

Coming off their second-straight 83-79 season, the Cubs are caught in the Major League Baseball middle class. Adding to Cubs fans' heartache, early rumors have begun to spread that Chicago isn't planning to break the bank this winter, which puts a damper on the pursuit of some of the biggest names in free agency. Tyler O'Neill, the oft-injured Boston Red Sox star who found his power stroke at Fenway Park this summer, is likely to command only a one- or two-year deal this winter thanks to his lengthy injury history. Jacob Mountz of FanSided recently urged the Cubs to roll the dice on O'Neill this winter.

Beyond all odds, they won 89 games and made a run to the National League Championship series as the third Wild Card team. Both Sean Manaea and Luis Severino are free agents, which leaves the Mets with some holes to fill in their rotation. Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report predicts that they will swoop in and sign left-hander Yusei Kikuchi to a three-year, $45 million contract.

The Colorado Rockies, coming off yet another last-place finish in the NL West, may have to shake things up a bit heading into 2025. ESPN's Jeff Passan reported Tuesday that the Rockies are "open to moving" second baseman Brendan Rodgers and right-handed relief pitcher Justin Lawrence. Rodgers had a bounce back season in 2024 after missing over 100 games in 2023 due to shoulder surgery.

The Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series in 2024 with key injuries in their rotation. While outlining the pitching market in free agency, Bleacher Report's Zachary D. Rymer predicted that Walker Buehler would leave Los Angeles and sign with the Chicago Cubs. "This year was a disaster for Buehler until, suddenly, it wasn't," wrote Rymer. "He came up huge in his last three playoff outings for the Dodgers, pitching 10 scoreless innings and ultimately throwing the pitch that sealed the deal on their title."
