8/23/25 Seattle Mariners' Ben Williamson shows more pop in Triple-A. It's been a few weeks since the Seattle Mariners sent rookie third baseman Ben Williamson back down to Triple-A, but there's good reason to check back up on him. Williamson was optioned to the Tacoma Rainiers after the M's reunited with All-Star third baseman Eugenio Suárez at the trade deadline, but it by no means meant the book was closed on the 24 year old. Williamson showed off his impressive defensive ability as well as good contact skills at the plate while with the Mariners for 85 games, even providing 1.2 bWAR for the big club.

8/10/25 Seattle Mariners Infielder Still Dealing with Nagging Injury in Minor Leagues. Seattle Mariners infielder Ben Williamson, currently playing at Triple-A Tacoma, is still dealing with a nagging back injury, per Rainiers broadcaster Andy Helwig. Helwig reports that he's been taking ground balls and should be in the lineup next week when the Rainiers play in Las Vegas. Williamson hasn't played all week after being scratched from the starting lineup on Tuesday. The Mariners just acquired Eugenio Suarez at the recent trade deadline and continue to play him at third base, which is why Williamson was sent down last Thursday.

7/02/25 Passan's take on if Seattle Mariners would trade for Bregman. The month of the MLB trade deadline is here, and with the Seattle Mariners in position for a wild card in the American League, they could do something big. There's been speculation that the former Astros and current Red Sox star third baseman could be available before the July 31 deadline, and he would check a few boxes for the Mariners. First, his position, where the M's have been starting rookie Ben Williamson and his .606 OPS.

5/20/25 Why Passan says Seattle Mariners are in great spot with pitching. The Seattle Mariners enter Tuesday with a 27-19 record, which has them in first place in the AL West and tied with the New York Yankees for the second-best record in the entire American League. Savvy play by Seattle Mariners' Ben Williamson gets national attention So it makes sense that ESPN's Jeff Passan called the Mariners “arguably the second-best team in the American League as it stands now” when he talked to Seattle Sports' Brock and Salk on Tuesday morning. But Passan's larger point was to highlight why the M's are in a great spot right now. “The really exciting part is that George Kirby's coming back, and that Logan Gilbert's coming back, and that Bryce Miller is going to come back,” Passan

5/19/25 Seattle Mariners rookie's savvy play gets national attention. For a rookie, Ben Williamson sure is making an impact on the field for the Seattle Mariners. The 24-year-old third baseman debuted in the big leagues just over a month ago, and he's acquitted himself well with a few big moments at the plate as well as some impressive plays in the field. In Friday's 6-1 Mariners win over the Padres, San Diego's Luis Arraez dropped a bloop single into shallow left field with Fernando Tatís Jr. on first base. The reason: Williamson fooled him with a savvy deke, making it seem like he had a play on the ball.

5/05/25 Story of Seattle Mariners drafting Ben Williamson says a lot. Ben Williamson has only been on the Seattle Mariners' roster for three weeks, but it seems like a lot longer than that. The 24-year-old third baseman has fit right in with the Mariners, hitting .242 with a home run and three doubles in 16 games – and that's only after a few hitless games over the last week drove his average down from .310 through his first 11 contests. Williamson is also a very capable third baseman defensively, to the point that it's not rare to read his name and the words “Gold Glove potential” next to each other.
