Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Nick Lodolo has been on the injured list since the beginning of August with a blister issue on his finger. Before Friday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers, the left-hander had a long toss session and threw five pitches from a mound to test his finger. The 27-year-old is 8-6 with a 3.05 ERA, a WHIP of 1.03, and 124 strikeouts in 23 starts this season. He has already eclipsed his career high in innings and starts this season. With Hunter Greene back, if Lodolo can get healthy, the Reds' rotation could be dangerous heading into the last 30 games of the season or so.
