Right-hander Brock Stewart made just four appearances for the Dodgers after being acquired from the Minnesota Twins before going on the Injured List with a sore shoulder. An examination found inflammation in the rotator cuff and fluid in the bursa sac, but no structural damage. “Already it's calmed down,” Stewart said shortly after receiving the injections. Stewart began playing catch last week but still felt discomfort in the shoulder and received another cortisone injection, according to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. The Los Angeles Dodgers made it out of the trade deadline with less deals than the greater baseball world may have predicted, but certainly the right moves made to improve the ball club for both 2025 and beyond. Right-handed reliever Brock Stewart was traded to the Dodgers from the Minnesota Twins in what had turned into an all-out selling spree by Minnesota. “I was a little shocked,” Stewart said to the Orange County Register of the trade. Going from the major leagues to the independent leagues to a right-arm sling and back to the big leagues again is risk/reward personified. After salvaging the final two series of a nine-game road trip, the Los Angeles Dodgers will return home Monday night to face the St. Louis Cardinals, bringing their modest haul from last week's trade deadline with them.
